Offsite meeting of INO Tomsk 2020 federal group in Tomsk
July 25 in engineering building of SEZ Tomsk under the direction of the region governor Sergey Zhvachkin and Oleg Fomichev, deputy minister for the economic development, INO Tomsk federal group meeting will take place.
Deputy Minister of finance Andrey Ivanov, deputy minister for education and science of the Russian Federation Alexander Povalko, as well as representatives of big businesses and public companies are coming to Tomsk to participate.
This is the third in a row meeting of the working group. The first two were held in Moscow: May 28, hosted by Russian vice prime minister Arkady Dvorkovic, and June 23 – by Oleg Fomichev, deputy minister for the economic development.
Participants of Tomsk session will be discussing actualization of the two directions of renovated INO Tomsk 2020 concept — “Advanced production” and “Smart and convenient city”. In particular, main points on the agenda will include development of the region innovative clusters (nuclear technologies, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and IT, petrochemical and wood industry clusters), necessary transport infrastructure and the new city center “Tomsk waterfront.”
In addition, the agenda also includes Tomsk Region participation in the enhancement of innovative potential and solutions to the problems of import substitution of fuel and energy complex companies and the creation of the field for difficult oil reserves development.

The concept of creation of INO Tomsk education, research and development center in the Tomsk Region is approved by the Russian government edict in 2011. In April 2014, by order of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, interdepartmental working group for the project actualization is created. The revision of the document is driven by the necessity to involve new members, big businesses and public corporations; record of strategy of the social-economic development of Siberia measures (one third of its final version consists of Tomsk residents proposals); along with complicated interdepartmental problems, which solution is required for the execution of the INO Tomsk 2020 project. In May 2014 concept actualization was taken over by a group formed under the direction of Deputy PM Arkady Dvorkovich. In includes representatives of The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Regional Development, Ministry of Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Finance, Agency for strategic initiatives, Ranepa, Gazprombank, Gazprom, Rosatom, Gazprom Neft, Sibur Holding.
