Commercial forest fruit output in Tomsk Region in 2012 exceeded 1bn rubles

In 2012, the output of commercial forest fruit products in Tomsk Region amounted to 1.2bn rubles. The forest fruit output of the Region is distributed among the local, domestic, and exports markets 38.5%, 25%, and 36.5% respectively.

Primary destination for Tomsk pine nuts is China, for mushrooms and berries – Europe where the demand for eco-products is high, for juices – CIS and other foreign countries. These products enjoy high demand of foreign producers and consumers. The output of preserved berries and mushrooms grows every year.

The region regularly takes part in international fairies and exhibitions, which helps successfully market abroad its forest fruit products. In January, Tomsk Region took part in the International Green Week Berlin for the seventh time. Tomsk Region presented the produce of its leading forest fruit producers, among them Sava, KrasotaSM, Artlife, Ladia, etc. The exposition of Tomsk Region was acknowledged as one of the best presentations by the organizers and participants. Tomsk Region was awarded certificates of the Green Week fair and the certificate of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture "For conceptual promotion of the Secrets of Siberian Health brand".

Apart from taking part in the agricultural fair the Tomsk delegation had a number of meetings with German producers and traders. Bauer Fruchtsaft GmbH, Germany's biggest juice and mineral water producer is already showing interest in fruit concentrates from Tomsk. Negotiations were held in Hamburg on the supply of fish processing equipment. An investment project on the creation of a chain of mini fish processing plants is currently being developed.
