Successful examples of intra- and interregional cooperation are demonstrated by Tomsk universities implementing cooperation projects with leading Russian companies.

Twelve projects are currently being implemented in the Siberian Federal Districts, out of them 5 are implemented in cooperation with Tomsk universities, 3 with Krasnoyarsk universities, 2 with Novosibirsk universities, and 2 with Kemerovo and Irkutsk universities respectively.

Examples of such projects are the project of the Tomsk Polytechnic University in cooperation with NEVZ Soyuz Holding (Novosibirsk) and the project of the Tomsk State University in cooperation with Altai Federal Research Center. The project with NEVZ Soyuz involves the work on a modern and competitive facility for the manufacture of nanoceramic products for power electronics, electrical engineering, photonics, security systems, oil and gas industry. The output of the products based on the R&D work of the Tomsk Polytechnic University is projected to reach by 2015 192m rubles and by 2017 almost a billion rubles.

The other project implemented by the Tomsk State University in cooperation with Altai Federal Research Center aims at the creation of a high technology manufacturing facility for an important import substitution product – crystalline glyoxal – for 500 tons per year based on a glyoxal solution cleaning and evaporation technology. The output of the products based on the R&D work of the Tomsk State University is projected to reach by 2015 230m rubles and by 2017 350m rubles.

At the same time the Tomsk State University is working on another project with one of the leading enterprises in the Russian space industry OAO Information Satellite Systems Reshetnev Company and two other Tomsk universities, the Tomsk University of Control Systems and Electronics and Tomsk Polytechnic University. The goal of this project is to create integrated software and hardware systems for the development of standard system-on-chip electronic modules for communication spacecraft control and electric power systems, navigation and Earth remote sensing systems with long active lifetime. The output of the R&D products under this project is projected to reach by 2015 700m rubles and by 2017 900m rubles.

The Tomsk University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics is working on a project which was defined as a national priority by the government of Russia. The goal of the project is to develop and set up series production of efficient and reliable semiconductor light sources and lighting equipment. The Tomsk State and Polytechnic Universities are also taking part in this project. The output of the R&D products under this project is expected to reach by 2015 almost 2bn rubles.

The Tomsk University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics and the Tomsk Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences are working on a project with Micran Research and Manufacturing Company aimed at the development of a technology for the production of GaAs monolithic microwave integrated circuits (highly mobile electron heterotransistors) on copper plated surfaces without using precious metals. The federal investments under the project will amount to 610m rubles. The output of the R&D products under this project is projected to exceed by 2015 850m rubles.
