Tomsk Region to amend the strategy of regional development

The new revision of the document contains updated long-term economic and social development priorities based on the conditions for the sector development and growth potential till 2025.

New revision of the strategy updates the priorities of economic and social development for long-term perspective based on the conditions for the sector development and growth potential till 2025.

The strategy contains ten priorities: oil and gas, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnological industries, agricultural sector, mechanical engineering, nuclear materials, forest industry, research and education, construction and healthcare sectors.

The section devoted to Tomsk Region development was significantly enhanced. The term "territorial development zone" was introduced. There will be 6 territorial development zones in the region:

• Center for Education, Research and Development (INOTomsk) (Tomsk, Seversk, Tomsk District).
• Center for Development of Nuclear Technologies of Siberia (Tomsk, Seversk, Tomsk District).
• Forest Sector Development (Tomsk, Asino, Bakchar, Verhneketsky, Zyryansky, Krivosheinsky, Pervomaisky, Teguldetsky Districts).
• Agricultural Sector Development (Aleksandrovsky, Asinovsky, Bakcharsky, Verhneketsky, Zyryansky, Kargasoksky, Kozhevnikovsky, Kolpashevsky, Krivosheinsky, Molchanovsky, Parabelsky, Pervomaisky, Teguldetsky, Tomsky, Chainsky, Shegarsky Districts).
• Development of Iron Ore Resource Potential and Reserves (Bakcharsky, Kolpashevsky Districts).
• Development of Oil and Gas Reserves in the Right Bank of the Ob River (Aleksandrovsky, Verhneketsky, Kargasoksky, Parabelsky Districts, Kedrovy).

After all comments are processed, the document will be submitted to Sergey Zhvachkin, Governor of Tomsk Region.
