Siberian Logistics Center to invest 300 million rubles in river vessels

Siberian Logistics Center, a holding company registered in Tomsk, parent company of OAO Tomsk Shipping Company which owns almost 400 river vessels, will invest around 300 million rubles in the repairs and renovation in winter 2012-2013.

According to TSC General Director Vladimir Knol, currently the company owns 359 vessels. Next year it will buy 25 more from the Samus Shipyard, also in the SLC structure.

"We are finishing the year with positive financial balance, so we have funds to get prepared for the navigation season 2013... The wear of our river fleet has exceeded 70%. There is an acute need to invest in repairs and renovations. This year we plan to invest more than 300 million rubles," Vladimir Knol said.

In 2012, the company transported about 5.4 million tons of cargo out of the planned 6.2 million. And it was able to deliver on its commitments only by using additional truck and railroad capacities.

OAO Tomsk Shipping Company transports cargo in the Ob-Irtysh river basin and covers Tomsk and Novosibirsk Regions and Khanty-Mansi and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrugs. It is also involved in cargo handling operations and production of coarse mortar sand and crushed stone. The company employs 1,600 people.

ZAO Siberian Logistics Center unites transport and industrial production companies and organizations. It provides transport and logistics services in Siberia, develops raw materials extraction operations, produces and supplies road construction materials. The company employs more than 2,000 people.
