Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug takes keen interest in Tomsk innovations

The Days of Science and Innovations of Tomsk Region in Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug resulted in real prospects for cooperation between the two regions.
In February-March 2013, a YNAO business mission will return a visit to Tomsk Region. As Deputy Governor of Tomsk Region Aleksey Knyazev emphasized, finding application for Tomsk innovations in YNAO is a long-term goal of Tomsk Region.
Joint programs will be developed and joint ventures created. As a result of the roundtable session on innovations in health care, it was decided to develop a comprehensive cooperation program for YNAO and Tomsk Region organizations aimed at improving health care in YNAO in areas such as manpower training, implementing joint research projects, and introducing modern medical equipment, materials and medications in YNAO's health care institutions. Cooperation plans also include development and implementation of programs for prevention, diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with diseases prevalent in YNAO.
YNAO professionals were particularly interested in a rapid blood test device by Mednord Technika and preventive medications by Biolit.
At the roundtable session on environment presentations of solutions for drinking and process water treatment and sewage disposal proved the most attractive for YNAO. Another focus was on waste handling technologies, especially those for the oil and gas industry, and soil and water reclamation. A lot of attention was given to environmental monitoring methods and equipment, such as Storm Ring, a system developed by the Tomsk Climatic and Environmental Systems Monitoring Institute which provides real-time evaluation of weather parameters and forecasts for the next 5-6 hours.
The environmental session resulted in a decision to create joint ventures in the abovementioned areas.
Tomsk Region is also ready to share its experience in the promotion of innovations. According to Aleksey Knyazev, YNAO students studying in Tomsk universities will be organized into business groups which will work on innovation projects for further implementation in YNAO.
