“Mitsui” Company Revealing Interest in the Innovation Capacity of Tomsk

Governor of Tomsk Region Sergey Zhvachkin met Deputy General Director of Russian office of “Mitsui” company of Japan Yasuhiro Kojima in Moscow.

“Mitsui” has been operating in Russia since 1967; nowadays the Japanese company is targeted at Russian regions with the largest innovation capacity. Experts of “Mitsui” consider Tomsk Region to be one of them.

Sergey Zhvachkin and Yasuhiro Kojima discussed prospects for Tomsk science-based economy development – innovative activities of universities and developments of residents of Tomsk special economic area. The Japanese partners also declared their intention to study new Tomsk projects in the field of advanced processing of wild growth.

“Our innovators, undoubtedly, will find the Japanese experience useful, while “Mitsui” will be interested in the fresh view of Tomsk developers”, Sergey Zhvachkin commented on the results of the meeting.

“Mitsui” management accepted the invitation of Governor of Tomsk to visit the region at the beginning of 2014 to discuss specific joint projects.
