Ministry of Regional Development Will Coordinate Efforts of Federal Agencies on Supporting the Project “Tomsk Embankments”

On Thursday, November 21, Governor of Tomsk Region Sergey Zhvachkin met the Minister for Regional Development of RF Igor Slyunyaev in Moscow. Deputy Minister Vladimir Dedyukhin and Vice-Governor of Tomsk Yuri Gurdin also participated in the meeting.
The Head of the Region spoke to the Minister about the new infrastructure project “Tomsk Embankments”, which was now included in the concept of creating a federal centre of education, research and development in Tomsk “INOTomsk’2020”. The project “Tomsk Embankments”, which obtained the support of President of RF Vladimir Putin, suggests construction of a modern business and educational centre with a students’ campus and a hotel complex on undeveloped grounds of the right bank of the Tom River.
“The scale of the project, which will be further implemented within the framework of state and private partnership, suggest uniting efforts of many agencies and corporations”, said Governor Sergey Zhvachkin. “We agreed to develop a detailed plan for project implementation with specifying sources and terms of financing as well as the commissioning schedule till March 1”.
Governor of Tomsk declared that “Gazprom” was the first to invest in the Project “Tomsk Embankments” and spoke on the plans on establishing a special project office.
Minister for Regional Development of the country instructed Head of the department of investment projects, target and special programmes of development of subjects of RF Nurali Rezvanov to take the lead in the interdepartmental working group, the aim of which is to unite efforts of federal agencies on supporting the Tomsk project. The first meeting of the working group is to be held as early as December.
Governor discussed with the Minister other regional projects as well, including construction of a left-bank road in Tomsk.
