Tomsk scientists have developed extra-strong cement which is implemented at the final stage of drilling for separation of the water and oil layers and bentonite for horizontal wells of trenchless drilling.

According to deputy director of the company Igor Boyko, the cement developed by Tomsk scientists can provide for long operation time of wells without additional repairs, while bentonite will increase the quality of horizontal wells.

“Our development will increase the operation time of wells without additional repairs about one time and a half. Let’s assume that if a well reinforced with common solution worked 5 years, with our solution it would remain in operation for 7.5-8 years”, said Boyko. According to the higher educational establishment, the solutions developed by the students of the university are already implemented by large Siberian oil and gas as well as oil service companies.
