Tomsk region gets 206 million rubles from federal budget for entrepreneurial development

Following the results of Ministry of Economic Development contest among the regional programs for small and medium business development, Tomsk region gets 206 million rubles from the federal budget.

According to Nikolay Glebovich, head of regional department for industry and entrepreneurship development, Tomsk region joined the ranks of 21 Russian regions, whose measures for small and medium business development were considered to be effective.

“It is a great success for the region. Interdepartmental complex project was executed due to well-coordinated work of municipal, regional authorities and Tomsk region Development Corporation. Contest commission has supported the request for infrastructure development, arrangement and taking measures for the development of entrepreneurship for 206 million rubles. This is 55 million more than last year, and almost   40 % more than the regional limit,” said Nikolay Glebovich.

It’s the first time that federal support (32 million rubles) is given to the new branch of regional program — funding of production modernization. In 2014 it is planned to open two youth innovative centers in Asino district and in Tomsk, as well as develop microfinancing in municipalities. In addition, the funds will also be directed to regional fund of entrepreneurship development, export support center, Euro Info Correspondent center, two engineering centers and cluster development center. Equipment leasing grants will continue along with co-funding of the municipal programs for the starting businesses funding.

In 2014 Tomsk region has exhibited high figures for the number of small enterprises per mille, the number of people involved in small businesses, investment activity of small enterprises and has been pronounced the winner in the nomination “Best Russian region for development of small and medium entrepreneurship and favorable business climate”.
