Governor Sergey Zhvachkin signed an agreement with Head of Rosgeologia.

The agreement between the Region administration and the biggest geological holding will be built in line with a pilot test area to study new methods for survey and production of scavenger oil. The relevant agreement was reached by Sergey Zhvachkin the Head of the Region and Sergey Donskoy the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment in Tomsk in March.

The agreement with Rosgeologia provides for collaboration in complex geological study of the region territory, mineral exploration, subsoil status monitoring and realization of mutual environmental projects including treatment of industrial wastes.

"I am happy that the Government presented by Rosgeologia came back to the subsoil users and attends to development of available mineral resources of the regions", stressed Sergey Zhvachkin. – Geology is the basis and strategy for development of the mining industry. Whereas it is up to the government to identify strategic aspects and movement vector". The head of the region also added that Tomsk Region partnership with Rosgeologia will be strategic, considering Tomsk enormous scientific and technological potential.

"Tomsk Region is a large scientific center where education and innovative evolution are the most important aspects", noted Roman Panov.  – Region may become for us an excellent partner for elaboration and introduction of the state-of-the-art technologies in geological exploration of Russia. We have been now negotiating with the Polytechnic University  that has a rich mining eduction history, Tomsk State University and companies in the region. The agreement with the Region administration will formalize our further activity and I am sure that will make it easier the cooperation with the region representatives in the various aspects".

Very soon Sergey Zhvachkin and Roman Panov will start making up a task force to define the procedure for cooperation of Tomsk Region with Rosgeologia, to elaborate a plan of mutual actions and specific project review.
