About 18 billion rubles to be spent on the development of a power supply network in Siberia

According to the members of the Energy Coordination Council, power industry and power consumption system are now facing their top-priority task aimed at successful implementation of Siberia's power industry development strategy. The task involves development of additional tools for promotion of  investments and public and private partnership in construction as well as modernization of the power supply network and power generation facilities.

As explained by Director General of JSC MRSK Sibiri (Siberian Interregional Distribution Grid Company) Konstantin Petukhov, full and detailed reconstruction of power supply network costs 18 billion rubles, though the current financial provision is 4 billion rubles only. It is planned to raise the rest of the required amount by way of investments, foreign sources included. China has been and remains the strategic partner in this business.
