The Tomsk Special Economic Zone (SEZ) project reached break-even point. The investments in the Tomsk SEZ amounted to 15.7 billion rubles since its launch.
The Foton and Ecodor facilities construction is being completed at the Southern SEZ site, while MOJE Keramik-Implatate launched a new production line. A private investor built and opened a multifunctional sports center with a tennis club and gym. Construction of an ice ring is in the plans.
Deputy Governor of Tomsk region for Investment Policy and Property Relations Yuri Gurdin said: "We see a decrease in the number of the SEZ residents. The reason for it is that the zero corporate income tax rate and reduced insurance premium rates were cancelled at the federal level starting this year. Also, the supervisory bodies run frequent inspections of residents. The Tomsk Region Administration together with the Governor Sergey Zhvachkin lobby the Presidential representative in the Siberian Federal District and the central state organs to extend the period of tax benefits and preferences for the SEZ residents."
JSC "Special Economic Zones" continued to transfer the property to the management company of Tomsk SEZ in 2018. The required procedures for ownership registration are planned to be finished before July 2019.
Over the past year, SEZ signed agreements on technology development with five new companies. At the beginning of 2019, the number of companies that became active residents of SEZ reached 64. SEZ created more than 2500 jobs created in the exceeded thousand.
