Tomsk Region and Gazprom Neft have signed a cooperation agreement.
Being at the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi, Governor of the Tomsk Region Sergey Zhvachkin and Board Chairman of the Gazprom Neft Alexander Dyukov have signed the document.
The agreement provides for the development and introduction of new formats of cooperation between Gazprom Neft and Tomsk universities, research centers, small and medium-sized companies in the real sector. The basis for interaction will be the “Cross-industrial Joint Technological Development Center”, which is created by the company in partnership with the regional administration and higher educational institutions of Tomsk.
The document also assumes cooperation between the region and the company in experimental formats for organizing scientific, technological and innovation activities, including research centers, competencies or engineering, scientific and technological consortia, and scientific laboratories. The key areas of collaboration will be the digitization of processes for the exploration, oil production, and refining, as well as the development of tools and techniques for developing new types of reserves, including carbonate and fractured reservoirs.
The participants of the agreement will also evaluate the possibilities of cooperation in the field of Research and Advanced Development, the introduction of "new materials" ("smart" and composite materials, new types of crystal structures and chemical compounds, coatings, surface treatment and modification, new design technologies) and in other areas.
“The competitive advantage of the Tomsk Region is the strong links of the research and educational complex with the real sector of the economy, including the largest Russian companies. And Gazprom Neft is one of our most reliable partners. Together we implement many projects - from research on the effective development of "difficult" oil to the production of high-tech industrial products. And now we are expanding the horizons of cooperation, which is beneficial for both the region and the company,” said the governor of the Tomsk Region Sergey Zhvachkin.
“Tomsk Region is one of the main innovation and educational centers of Russia. The signing of a cooperation agreement will enable Gazprom Neft to use the region's large-scale scientific potential to overcome the technological challenges facing both our company and the entire domestic oil and gas sector. One of the most important tasks that the company plans to solve together with the Tomsk scientific and technological community is the development of methods for finding and extracting hard-to-recover hydrocarbon reserves in the pre-Jurassic complex in West Siberia,” said Alexander Dyukov, board chairman of the Gazprom Neft.
