Ten Year Investments Into Tomsk Region Economy Surpass One Trillion Rubles

The volume of investments in the Tomsk region in 2021 grew by 13.3 bln rubles and amounted to 114.7 bln rubles with a rate of increase of 101.4% in comparison with 2020 in comparable prices.

The main portion of investments still falls on the extraction of natural resources – oil and natural gas, as well as services in this industry – 23.5% of the investment volume into large and medium-sized organizations.  That said, a year ago the relative share of this industry sector reached 33.8%, which signals lowering dependency of the investment development of the region on the oil and gas production sector.

Processing manufacturers came in second in the scale of investments – 21% of the volume of investments, including the metal industry, chemical manufacture, wood processing, and food industry.

11.6% of the volume of investments falls in the sphere of transportation and storage, 9.1% - is in the real estate business.  Considerable means were also directed into education (6.8%), gas energy complex (5.8 %), healthcare and social security (4.5%), agriculture and forestry (3.6%), science research and development (2.9%), and trade (2.2%).

That said, the highest rate of investment growth last year was seen in the extraction of other natural resources (without taking oil and gas into consideration) – 503.5%, transportation and storage (143.3%), education (185.7%), trade (158.6%), healthcare (113.1%), and processing industries (139.8%).

The number of large investors of the region includes JSC SCC, OOO Tomskneftehim, OOO Gazprom methanol, AO NPF Micran, OOO Monolit-Story, AO Tomskneft VNK, OOO Gazpromneft Vostok, AO Gazprom Dobycha Tomsk, LLC Nord Imperial, AO Transneft – Zapadnaya Sibir, OOO Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk, OOO IC Gazinformplast, OOO GK Karyeroupravleniye, ZAO Tom-Dom TDSK, as well as AO Sibagro, AO TGOK ILMENIT, PAO Rostelecom, AO Tomskaya Generatsiya, and others.
