Vladimir Mazur, Governor of the Tomsk region, and Mikhail Khardikov, Head of the RSPP coordination council, discussed the initiatives to attract investment from large companies to the Siberian Federal District, creation of multi-purpose business clusters and implementation of educational projects in Siberia, as well as contribution of the Tomsk region to this project.

“One of the key tasks we prioritize is to contribute to the social and economic development of the regions where we work. And, of course, the development and support of educational, scientific and entrepreneurial initiatives helps to solve this task,” Mikhail Khardikov emphasized.

“The cluster approach to attract private investment in the economy is necessary to implement the strategy for the social and economic development of the Siberian Federal District (SFD). Its core objective is to improve the competitiveness of the economy of the Siberian regions, the level and quality of life of their population, as well as to ensure sustainable economic growth. Thus, we share the approaches of the RSPP in this direction,” Vladimir Mazur said.

Vladimir Mazur and Mikhail Khardikov also discussed the work of the RSPP coordination council for the SFD, the next meeting of which is scheduled for the end of June in Krasnoyarsk with the participation of Alexander Shokhin, RSPP President.

Within the framework of the target scenario of the RSPP, more than 500,000 new jobs are expected in the SFD regions by 2030. The volume of investments in fixed assets of the companies on the SFD territory may reach RUB 30.2 trillion by 2030. The target value of investment projects amounts to RUB 6.685 trillion.
