Large IT Companies Intensify Cooperation with the Tomsk Oblast

The largest 14th IT conference beyond the Urals, Gorod-IT, took place in the Tomsk Oblast. The conference gathered more than 2000 participants and 140 experts from different Russian regions.
The plenary discussion on the development of IT companies in the region was attended by Deputy Governor of the Tomsk Oblast for Education, Youth Policy and Digital Development Natalia Kiseleva, President of the TUSUR Aleksandr Shelupanov, Director of the Tomsk Vocational School of IT Technologies Elena Dediukhina, Managing Director of the Tomsk office of Sberbank of Russia Igor Chepenkov, Director General of ProKvanT (member of Infotecs) Anton Iudin, Director General of Sibegde Aleksandr Kalinin, etc.
The Tomsk Oblast is historically a “talent factory” in the IT sector: 15 thousand out of 60 thousand students study IT. The Tomsk Oblast features large number of small IT companies, now there are more than 370.
The IT sector in the region is characterized by the predominance of small and medium businesses primarily focused on development. At the same time the Tomsk Oblast is ready to host headquarters of large IT corporations.
After the Conference one of the participants – leading Russian infrastructure software developer Astra Group – expressed its willingness to intensify cooperation with the region. It was Aleksey Nalivayko, regional sales manager of Astra Group in the Siberian Federal District, who said that.
The software products by Astra Group are widely used in various economic sectors by the leading energy and oil and gas companies, financial institutions, state companies and state corporations, as well as in medicine and education. The company is interested in the researches and start-ups of Tomsk students and willing to cooperate with the region in the field of education and personnel training.
The participants of the Conference noted that today the IT sector receives unparalleled support in our country and demonstrates rapid growth. The companies and specialists have the greatest possible opportunities. It is important to enjoy them and ensure prompt implementation of the Russian developments.
