Tomskneftekhim has completed and successfully implemented the world’s first organizational project to improve the polyethylene production capacities.

For the first time in the world the team of Tomskneftekhim experts has implemented the project on real-time integration of plant operation optimization systems taking into account economic considerations and improved PE production process management on the plant with a tubular reactor.

Thanks to the systems the number of manual interventions of operators in the PE production process has decreased 5 times and the PE plant output has increased by 5 tons a day. These results in the company’s extra profit of RUB 156 million annually.

Tomskneftekhim is a rightful digitalization leader among the Russian industrial companies. Our RTO digital project is a great example of optimization improvement due to the advanced real-time automatic reactor control system.

The actual project implementation period is 2 years. The designed solution has already been implemented on other SIBUR sites.

Tomskneftekhim is one of the digitalization leaders at SIBUR. The majority of the digital tools are developed and tested at the Tomsk company, and then replicated throughout the manufacturing sites in other regions. Such implemented solutions include product transport by a driverless electric truck, an ultrasonic leakage detection device, systems of intelligent video surveillance, performance visualization and process optimization.
