Tomsk IT-Companies Become the Best Exporters in Siberia

A Committee of experts composed of representatives from federal ministries, Russian export center, and entrepreneurial associations has defined the best exporters in Siberia, who achieved the most success in export of non-resource-based, non-energy goods, works, and services.

Two Tomsk innovation companies became laureates of the competition.

Thus, in the nomination of “Exporter of the year in the sphere of hi-tech” in the category of “Small and middle-sized businesses”, the first prize was claimed by LLC “Elcom+”, which implements complex projects in the area of engineering communications systems and automatization, develops dispatch software and works with automatization of production processes for all manufacturing sectors.  The company has export operations in 50 countries in the world.

In nomination “Breakthrough of the year”, the winner is Tomsk company “Walkie Labs”, which develops software for professional communication WalkieFleet: voice and video PTT-calls, tracking users’ location, messaging, group and user priority, emergency call groups, AES-256 encryption.  In six years, the company filled a niche in the markets of more than 50 countries in the world.

Sergei Zhvachkin, the governor of the Tomsk Region, while commenting on the results of the competition, noted, that regional non-resource based export includes production from advanced wood processing and chemical industry, telecommunication and lab equipment, production from agro-industrial complex and wild harvesting.  Tomsk companies have partners who work in more than 70 countries and the share of non-resource based export already amounts to more than 80 percent.
