On February 8, a working meeting was held in St. Petersburg between Governor Sergey Zhvachkin and Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Board of Gazprom. Tomsk Region Governor and the head of the largest energy company discussed the course and prospects of cooperation.
Tomsk Region and Gazprom Neft have signed a cooperation agreement.
Being at the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi, Governor of the Tomsk Region Sergey Zhvachkin and Board Chairman of the Gazprom Neft Alexander Dyukov have signed the document.
Based on the results of the year 2018, the investments into construction, including housing, industrial and social development, exceeded 40 billion rubles in the Tomsk region.
The Deputy Governor on Investment Policy and Property Relationship Yuri Gurdin reported that in 2018 the portion of the state subsidies in the investment projects exceeded 31 billion rubles in the Tomsk region leading to the creation of 2 300 jobs as it reported. He mentioned "Mikran", "Sibkabel", "EleSi", "TOMZEL", "Derevenskoye Molochko", "Artlife", "SAVA", "Tomlesdrev", "Kompaniya "Eskimos", "Garment factory "Tsarina", "NPO "ReaSib", "Tomsk Instrument Plant" among the companies that received the subsidies.
The Tomsk Special Economic Zone (SEZ) project reached break-even point. The investments in the Tomsk SEZ amounted to 15.7 billion rubles since its launch.
The first stage of a large-scale investment project for the development of the ilmenite-zirconium mines and the construction of the mining and processing plant AO "Tuganskiy Gorno-Obogatitelnyy Kombinat "IFarmlmenit" was one of the most significant events in the investment area last year.

According to the Tomsk Customs, in 2018 the foreign trade volume of Tomsk companies amounted to $373.6 million increasing by 28.4% ($82.5 million) compared to 2017. The international trade resulted in 7.9 billion rubles of customs and other payments to the federal budget (6.58 billion in 2017).
Tomsk Oblast retained fourth place and the status of a "strong innovator" in the new ranking of innovative regions of Russia. The Association of Innovative Regions of Russia rating was presented at the Gaidar Forum in Moscow.
